Gas Safety Week 2023 is here!
Make sure you stay safe by:
1. Knowing the tell-tale signs of an unsafe appliance such as dark, sooty stains or increased condensation.
2. Ensure you get gas appliances serviced yearly.
2. Making sure you don’t block vents or attempt DIY gas work – always use a Gas Safe registered engineer – like us!

I would quote to replace the boiler! Problematic to say the least. Good job done though Will.
Judging by the damage I would check the heat exchanger,in my experience,a restricted heat exchanger causes higher temperatures which will lead to it being replaced.
