Powerflushing

Common symptoms of when a powerflush is required.

RADIATORS ARE COLD

Cold radiators or dirty water present when bleeding Radiators are cold because they contain dirty water and are clogged up with corrosion debris. In this state the heating system burns a lot more fuel as it struggles to heat the home.

BOILER CUTS OUT OR BANGS

Boilers make loud banging noises called “kettling” because corrosion debris blocks and damages the heat exchanger. Blockages reduce circulation causing boilers to overheat and cut out.

HOT WATER UNRELIABLE

Hot water tepid or Hot water fluctuates hot and cold due to corrosion debris in the combi boiler domestic heat exchanger. Flow reduce to a trickle due to limescale. If the problem is left too long the domestic heat exchanger may need to be replaced.

RADIATOR PIPES BLOCKED

Central heating radiator pipes blocked If radiators are stone cold then corrosion debris maybe blocking radiator pipes and the sooner the system is powerflushed the better before blockages become permanent and need to be cut out.
